Former New York State Governor David Patterson “doubts” the outgoing Governor Andrew Cuomo will ask for a 14-day transition before leaving office before leaving office shamefully.
Patterson made a comment on WNYC’s “Brian Lehrer Show” on Thursday.
Patterson compared Cuomo’s resignation with the resignation of former Governor Elliott Spitzer, who resigned in March 2008 due to a prostitution scandal. Patterson succeeded Spitzer. From March 2008 to the end of 2010, he completed Spitzer’s nearly three-year term.

Patterson called for a five-day transition before starting to govern. He argued that Governor Kathy Hochul did not need much time to start the transition, because as the Cuomo scandal continued to worsen, she had months to prepare.
“I think in the case of Lieutenant Hochell, since the investigation began, she has realized that this may have happened since March. So I think she hinted a little yesterday that she is now ready to take over.” Patterson says.
Patterson said: “I just think the governor has not solved what actually happened in his mind, and his self-awareness does not seem to be of special help to him during this special period.”

An investigation concluded that Cuomo had sexually harassed at least 11 women, many of whom were employees.
“The best way I can help now is to give way and let the government back in power, so this is what I will do, because I work for you, and to do the right thing is to do the right thing for you,” Como says Resigned on Tuesday.
The state’s attorney general, Letitia James, said her investigation found that Cuomo “sexually harassed multiple women, many of them young women, who engaged in unwelcome groping, kissing, hugging, and publishing. Improper remarks.”

Hochell told reporters on Wednesday that she was ready to serve as governor.
“This is not what we expected or required, but I am fully prepared to assume the responsibilities of the 57th Governor of New York State,” Hochul said.
Hochul plans to use the transitional period to appoint cabinet members to her government and outline her vision for the country.
