A prosecutor is investigating allegations of sexual harassment against the former governor of New York Andrew Cuomo According to the Associated Press, due to concerns that the complaint may be “potentially flawed,” it requested a delay.
Albany County District Attorney David Suarez submitted the request, putting the rest of the case at risk. Suarez has written to Judge Holly Terexler regarding the complaint and requested that the hearing be rescheduled. Cuomo was originally scheduled to appear in court on November 17, but it has been adjourned to January 7.
Suarez said in a letter to Terexler: “When the sheriff inexplicably filed a complaint with this court unilaterally, we were under investigation.” “Unfortunately, the documents in this matter may exist. The one-page complaint accused Cuomo of forcibly extending his hand under the shirt of an administrative assistant and filed a lawsuit in the Albany City Court. In New York State, forcible touching is considered a misdemeanor, with a maximum sentence of one year in prison.
