The Leopard 2A4 tank is more resistant to the threat of Roketsan

Leopard 2A4

Roketsan modernized the Leopard 2A4 main battle tank in the Turkish Armed Forces (TAF) inventory, adding armor and providing a high degree of protection against anti-tank threats.

The Leopard 2A4 T1 additional armor system enhances the survivability of the tank integrated with it. In 2021, Roketsan plans to complete the delivery of 40 tanks undergoing modernization in a program launched in December 2020.

Leopard 2A4s, as one of the most important contributors to TAF’s power on the battlefield, especially in asymmetric warfare environments, improves personnel safety to the highest level through this armor system.

The additional weight of the tank and turret armor system consists entirely of composite armor modules. Explosive reactive armor (ERA) only adds minimal weight to the tank and is lighter than the equivalent armor system.

All components of the armored system are sourced locally, which is a local and national solution developed by Turkish engineers.

Roketsan performs integration activities on site to minimize the downtime of the platform during the modernization process.
