Road trip to the Great Smoky Mountains

As you all know, I live in Tennessee and my daughter loves exploring the Great Smoky Mountains. The islands in Pigeon Forge or Gatlinburg are the best places to stay.

We cherish our time together and I love sharing my passion for travel with my daughter.

But spending one-on-one time with my daughter isn’t always easy because I’m always on the road, so I have to make time specifically for Madison.

This is what we love most about road trips: singing in the car, taking photos of Madison sleeping with her mouth open, and even just holding hands to reassure my baby that her mommy loves her.

The journey itself is the adventure, the destination is secondary.

I didn’t take road trips as a kid, but I wish Madison could recall the times we hiked in the Great Smoky Mountains, laid out all day by the pool at the Margaritaville Island Hotel, and had breakfast at Paula Deen’s.
