TikTok is adding viewer history to posts, according to a test found in the wild.
You’ll soon be able to see who’s watching your TikTok videos, another set of data you can use to identify your most active followers.
The tradeoff is that your followers can also see when you view their posts.
If you are not satisfied with this, you can opt out of the post to view the history. However, you will also not be able to view the viewing history of your content.
Unlike Instagram and Facebook Stories, TikTok’s post viewing history is turned on by default for everyone.
It has other differences from viewer history on other platforms, which we’ll cover in the next section. Here’s how TikTok’s viewer history works.
TikTok Post View History – How it Works
TikTok’s post viewing history is limited to followers, as you can see in the screenshot shared by social media expert Matt Navarra:
new! TikTok post view history 😳
You can now see which of your followers watch your TikTok! 👁

It says people you follow can see when you view their posts, and you’ll be able to see when followers view your posts.
In theory – if you want to surreptitiously view someone’s content, does that mean you can simply unfollow them?
Restricting viewing history in this way is an interesting option. I think it’s to accommodate people with a lot of followers, since it only filters the data to each other.
TikTok’s browsing history is also time-limited and available for 7 days from the date of publication.
…but TikTok’s post view history is only available for 7 days from the date of posting 👀📆

If viewer history is valuable to you, you will have a week to collect data.
TikTok confirms beta feature
in a report TechCruncha TikTok spokesperson confirmed that the feature is real and available to select users.
When it will be more widely available is anyone’s guess. There is no guarantee that beta features will be rolled out forever.
If the feedback from the test group is negative, TikTok may decide to scrap the viewer history or at least modify it.
At this point, it’s just something to watch out for and know it will be added to TikTok in a future update.
