Tips for new mothers + essentials

Welcome to the fourth semester!Every new mother’s postpartum recovery is different, but it helps to have a Postpartum recovery checklist Allow you to spend the first few weeks with your newborn at home.

We thought we would go home in two days, but ended up staying in the hospital for six nights. After giving birth, I sat for a week and a half without pain. I was exhausted, recovered from childbirth, learned how to breastfeed, did not sleep, and woke up every 2-3 hours to feed my baby.

In this article, I will introduce:

  • Basic elements of postpartum recovery checklist
  • What to wear after childbirth
  • Breastfeeding favorites

Mom’s postpartum recovery checklist

Adult diapers – Assuming that you will be grateful to have these products during postpartum care, especially in the first few days.

pad – I cannot emphasize enough – to bring more than you think you need. Since I stayed in the hospital for a few days, I had to ask my partner to take a few more bags.I didn’t use Foot pad I do it until I get home. I bought maternity pads, but eventually ordered regular pads and shipped them to my house. In the first few days, you may not want to leave home, so stock up.

underwear – If you don’t want to wear pads all day long (because it makes us real, no one does it), let me introduce you to Modibodi. This sustainable brand produces menstrual trousers that you can wear every time you go to the bathroom without worrying about leakage or changing the pads. In the first few days/weeks, underwear that is very absorbent overnight works well.

What to wear after childbirth

Salty-Crush-Review

Anything with a button – If you are breastfeeding, a button-up top or dress will make life easier. This dress comes from Salty crushed.

Nursing tank -You will live in these. They are very elastic and feel good to sleep in them.I have Modibodi’s leak-proof tank I like it in the picture because I don’t have to wear a nursing pad.

Nursing bra -Speaking of nursing bras, buy a size one. My favorite is the cotton crossover styles because they are easy and comfortable to wear. I also have some with clips for easy access.

Here are some of my favorites:

Loose pants -Avoid anything tight-fitting. The key to comfort is loose, soft fabrics. Although you may want to wear a gown for the first few days, it is also good to wear comfortable home clothes after childbirth.

Glad to have

Baby wrap – The baby bag can bring your baby close to you, allowing you to snuggle your baby while freeing your hands.

Belly wrap -After hearing about it from some of my mom friends, I bought a belly package on Amazon. I started wearing it on the second day after giving birth, usually for about an hour a day.

Breastfeeding

Breastfeeding is a journey, which is different for every new mother. My milk didn’t come until the second or third day, I remember I tried to squeeze a few drops of colostrum into a small syringe to feed our baby. I also have to learn how to feed the baby without sitting down, because I am so painful.

Here are some essential items that will help me during my mother’s journey.

Breastfeeding kit – I put together a small basket with some necessities so that it can be kept nearby while breastfeeding. I put the burp cloth, the nursing pad, Haka breast pump, Snacks, lip balm and hand sanitizer are placed in the basket for easy access.

Pad – I use reusable nursing pads. The thicker the cushion, the better. I put some in my breastfeeding kit in case I need a new one.

Heating + ice pack – Use a heat pack before feeding or pumping. When you finish all the work, the ice pack can relieve stress immediately.

Silverette

Nipple relief – When I first started breastfeeding, I almost cried because my nipples were sore.I started searching for nipple relief on Google and came across Silverlight. These eco-friendly cups are made of silver and have antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, anti-fungal and antibacterial effects, which can prevent and repair breastfeeding nipples.

  • They work on inverted nipples
  • Help relieve nipple thrush or mastitis
  • They can protect your nipples from rubbing against your bra or T-shirt when you are trying to heal
  • You can put them in the refrigerator to get a cooling effect.

support system – In Australia, Australian Breastfeeding Association Is a free resource that provides useful tips and information about breastfeeding. If you have any questions about nipple relief or breastfeeding, they even have a toll-free hotline that you can call.
