In response to popular demand, Dan and Kayla Gardner Blow the dust off their bookshelves, open up their Kindle and Audible libraries, and share their recent favorite reads. In this episode, they’ll talk about what got them through the long COVID containment period.Kayla also shares her experience writing a novel under a pseudonym Kayla Sharp.
“There are so many people making so much money out of fiction. Obviously anyone can self-publish, so it has a bad reputation and a lot of rubbish. But sometimes you can’t tell the difference in quality because people hire professional editors, They hire professional cover designers. They run it through their readers to make sure everything makes sense and they don’t have typos. Then they self-publish it and they get 70% of the royalties from Amazon instead of traditional publishing where you have to pay back upfront , you might get about 5% of the stuff”.
