Top 6 Free Survey Makers for Marketers

The number of online surveys has increased dramatically over the past decade, according to Pew Research Center.

from short social media polls lengthy feedback formresearching your target audience and finding out what they think has never been easier.

You have a lot of options for free survey makers.

That’s the good news.

The bad news is that you’ll have to study your options carefully to figure out which survey tool is best for you.

In this article, I do the dirty work for you.

Below I’ve outlined the top six free survey makers, with a simple bulleted list of their pros and cons, so you can quickly choose the one that best suits your needs.

But first, caveats.

What’s missing from free survey makers

There is usually a problem when something is free. The same goes for free survey makers.

Free plans offered by free survey tools or paid survey tools generally have the following limitations:

  • Export options are limited. You may not be able to export survey data for viewing in Excel or Google Sheets. There may be only PDF export options or no export functionality at all.
  • Limited analysis. Free survey tools often ignore analytics. You may be left to your own pivot table and Excel expertise If you want to create anything fancy from your survey data.
  • Limited survey functionality. This can range from limiting how many respondents or questions each survey can have, to allowing only so many question types (e.g., multiple choice, long form, etc.).
  • Limited perks. By privilege I mean those other features that make software go from good to great. For survey makers, this might mean easily accessible support, the ability to embed surveys into emails or web pages, multiple user accounts, or integration with other email marketing or CRM software.
  • no brand. Free survey makers give you their tools for free. In return, you give them free brand awareness. Don’t expect to be able to swap their logo for your own.you might be stuck with them Brand Promotionand a prominent link to their website throughout the survey process or on the thank you page (or both).

If any of the above is a dealbreaker for you, you should plan to invest a little money in a paid survey tool. That’s why I’ve also listed the starting prices for all six tools below.

If you end up having to upgrade later, it’s easier to do so with tools you’re already familiar with.
