Anjuna is located on the west bank of Goa on the Arabian Sea and is one of the best neighborhoods in Goa. Despite the long history of hippie culture, Anjuna is still an important venue for all types of tourists in Goa. If you are a beach lover, then you will often cite the beauty of the soft white sands here, guided by gently swaying palm trees, truly make the Anjuna coastline stand out. In addition to the tranquil waters of the Arabian Sea far from the coast, Anjuna also hosts its legendary beach parties, flea markets and fascinating fire shows to take you on a trance trip. To immerse all of this, you need a peaceful homelike place to return. Thanks to the Tree House Hotel, my recent trip was recorded as spending a quiet weekend in the Tree House Sonnet, a quiet and shabby 24 rooms in the center of Anjuna.
Amit Rawat, the general manager of Treehouse Sonnet, officially received me at Goa International Airport. Although it is about 2 hours’ drive from Anjuna, the fascinating conversation we had made this long journey even shorter. Science, religion, people, psychology; there are hardly any topics we haven’t touched on. The silence in the middle allows me to observe still stagnant water and modern infrastructure such as Zuari Bridge. We are approaching the small village of Anjuna at an inexplicable speed.
The moment you start to notice the colorful sides of roadside boutiques, trinket shops, and majestic mansions with long balconies, you know you have arrived. A large number of Activa(s) and small cars drive on the narrow roads of Anjuna, while showing off some of the most selected stained glass etchings on both sides of the road. A left-turning lane led us to the tree house sonnet that sneaked away at the end of the road. A classic location because it is surrounded by a corridor leading to an unobstructed and harmonious dead end.
Hidden in the timeless and versatile color scheme of barley white and carmine, Treehouse Nova is a rectangular structure with an extended balcony. As soon as I arrived, Bijay Mishra Ji greeted me with a cup of sweet coconut water. Joanna helped me through the express check-in procedure, and when she verified my documents, I couldn’t help but notice the huge Portuguese-style colored windows at the reception desk. Soon, I received the digital room key for room 202. I happily walked through the small lobby and finally explored my weekend stay.
Tree House Sonnet Loft Room #202
Treehouse Sonnet’s 202 is a lovely attic room, covered in ocean-like blue and white shades. This loft room has a “very elegant bedroom design” with an extended balcony facing the road. This room is equipped with all basic facilities such as TV, telephone, walk-in cupboard, split air conditioner and tea/coffee maker.
The toilet is equipped with Jaquar accessories and free toiletries, including dental kits.
Several stairs lead to the attached loft, which has an extra bed, a comfortable bookshelf and a fan. This open space can be best used when traveling with children or extra people.
Take a look at these Dutch-designed wall panels, which have been carefully designed to add a retro touch to the decoration. However, what I like most about the Tree House Hotel is their love of books and how wonderful they are to incorporate the love of reading in the hotel. Especially in the tree house sonnets, each room has a shelf on the wall to welcome you, and you must actively read it.

The part of the open-air lobby of the tree house sonnet invites picturesque Anjuna’s country breeze in its appendage, giving you time from the starfish tile pool, hanging Tiffany-style lamps and Dutch tiles of different patterns Draw inspiration from. In addition, in the tree house sonnet, the staff is always at your service. I was overwhelmed by all the love I received.

During my trip to Anjuna, I spent a lot of time lying lazily on the sun loungers by the small swimming pool of the sonnet, drinking coffee, reading a book, or just thinking about life.
Tree House Sonnet Dining Options
Treehouse Sonnet is a comfortable hotel that offers the same comfortable menu. During the two days I stayed here, I like all kinds of breakfast, from fried vermicelli to omelette of your choice, to fruit, and even freshly cooked Chole Bhature. Love eating here! Fully cooked, slightly spicy food and coffee are just what I like.
I really like the staff who continue to serve dil se. Although I eat lunch out most of the time, I did have dinner at the hotel. Chef Debu Marandi surprised me with French chicken wings (or chicken lollipops) and curry fish, allowing me to bite into the juicy meat to my heart’s content. The Sonnet menu also has many vegetarian options.
Sunset spot and dinner at Anjuna Beach
One of the biggest advantages of living in Treehouse Sonnet is that it is close to all important places. From the market to the beach, almost everything is within walking distance. Or just jump on Activa and ride a bike! The tree house sonnet rents out Activa for 350 Indian rupees per day, and rents cars for 1500 Indian rupees per day. I tried both. On the first day of my stay, I took the Activa adventure to the nearby markets and sunset spots, and the second day, I rented a car to visit Baga and Calangute beaches.
The Anjuna market has many items for bidding and is a paradise for shopaholics, whether it is Tibetan trinkets, Kashmiri handicrafts, psychedelic T-shirts, casual gowns or man-made accessories. However, I hope you are a good bargainer! In the process of jumping into the market, I fell in love with a lady named Kavita, and finally bought a bunch of clothes and accessories from her store. Later, I met Tara at sunset, and she sold me an evil eye amulet and a bracelet.
The sunset point passing by the market will immediately draw you into its fold with the sound of the coast. As you approach the sunset point, you can hear the sound of calm waves hitting the coastal rocks. Although this place is usually crowded, it is one of the best places to enjoy the beautiful sunset in Anjuna.
In the evening, Anjuna Beach exudes the fragrance from the shacks, inviting you to enjoy the seafood on the coast. Throwing flame juggling and psychedelic music in the background, Anjuna becomes the best expectation of a lazy vacationer for the holiday. At the end of my first night in Anjuna, I had a seaside dinner at Pinakin Beach Cafe. Here, I drank my first glass of Sprite Feni and tasted some very delicious golden fried shrimp and caviar. With fire acrobats performing all night by the beach, the joy continued.
Things to do near Anjuna: Tree House Sonnet
Treehouse Sonnet planned some interesting things for me on the second day of my stay. In the morning, we enjoyed a hearty breakfast at the hotel, and then we went to visit the famous historical landmark nearby, the 16th-century Fort Chappola.
Fort chappola
We arrived here in just a few minutes, and although there are no remains of the fortress today, walking through its northern outpost, you can see some extraordinary views. This fortress was built by Maharaja of Sawantwadi across the Chapora River. Later in 1717, the Portuguese underwent extensive repairs, supplementing the fortress and a tunnel extending to the sea in case of emergency. The Chapora Fort stands above the Chapora River, and you can see the Chapora River to the north, Vagator to the south, and the Arabian Sea in the west from outside the city walls.
Enjoy lunch at Anand Seafood Restaurant
Anand Seafood Restaurant on Anjuna Siolim Road near Saraswati Mill is the ideal place to satisfy those who want authentic Goan seafood at reasonable prices. There are air-conditioned/non-air-conditioned and outdoor seating options. At Anand, you can enjoy finger-licked food, whether it is Goan, North Indian or Chinese cuisine. We arrived at 12 o’clock and had a beer when the restaurant opened at 12.30. Surprisingly, Anand gets super crowded before 1pm on any day of the week, so I suggest you arrive early to avoid long waits.
Amit and I each ordered a fish Thali. This meal is the most delicious meal I have ever had in Anjuna. The fish tari I tried consisted of Lava Fried Moso, Kokum Curry, Goan Dried Shrimp with Grated Coconut and two different types of Goan Fish Curry. These juicy curries are topped with most steamed rice. Delicious to say the least! This quaint little place fascinates you! Ample parking space.
St. Michael’s Church, Assagao
Eating a protein-rich meal at Anand’s will definitely release a lot of tryptophan and serotonin, making you want to take a nap. But before we returned to the hotel, we decided to stop at a few churches on the way. The first church we visited was the Roman Catholic Church of St. Michael in Assagao. They say that this 16th century church is one of the oldest churches in Goa. This beautiful white church was built during the Portuguese-Indian period during the early Portuguese colonial period. On one of the protrusions, the Sanskrit word “Mornna Uprant Sukhachem Jivit” is written.
Church of Our Lady of Pious
The other church we stayed at was the neoclassical “Church of Our Lady of Pious” on Chinvar Anjuna Road. This lovely pious church is adjacent to the Indumatis farm and is also one of the oldest churches in the area. It was built by the Portuguese at about the same time as the Church of St. Michel, but is famous for its majestic Gothic architecture.

The mango tree is right next to the tree house sonnet, the perfect bar and restaurant where you want to relax in the evening. Exactly! What did we do! At this time, Namrata (the lawyer and public relations expert of the Treehouse Group) had arrived in Goa, and we spent an evening drinking beer, martini, butter garlic squid and cold shrimp. Great atmosphere, great people, what a wonderful trip.
The two days I spent at Treehouse Sonnet kept me so close to all the staff that I was really hurt when I left. I took a last look at all the tribal art and paintings in the hall, and drank the last sip of coconut water, I was ready to start a new exploration. This time it was Treehouse Neptune in Panjim.
