Treehouse Nova: An immersive experience in South Goa

How do people work in South Goa? Namrata said that we drove across the coast of Cansolin surrounded by palm trees. This explains precisely the cold atmosphere of this peaceful paradise. I also began to notice the nuances between North and South, but I knew very little about the series of past events related to this isolation. Subsequently, Pifran Fernandes, general manager of Treehouse Nova in Cansaulim, confirmed this idea in detail. In a brief conversation with a cup of hot ginger tea, Pifran revealed the difference between South Goa and North Goa.

South Goa

He explained: When you travel from north to south in Goa, not only the atmosphere or lifestyle, but even the dialect will change. The reason for this change is “to a large extent related to how the civilizations of the two corners have pursued their way of life in the past few centuries.” For example, North Goa is dominated by fishermen communities. In recent years, it may have become a party center or the axis of a hippie-centered lifestyle, but a large part of its culture, including food, resonates with fish farmers and their lifestyles.

South Goa House

On the other hand, South Goa has always been home to wealthy Goa or Portuguese families. Although most of them have left the city to settle abroad, they still try their best to ensure that their houses are intact. For this reason, South Goa managed to maintain its ancient Portuguese houses, natural beauty and pristine beaches with fewer tourists. The roads are flat, the air is fresher, and the food here must be more delicious.

Or I think so because my immersive experience in South Goa is provided by Treehouse Nova, a Portuguese-style hotel where people can experience Goan traditions with a touch of modernism.

Tree House Nova South Goa

Tree House New Star Accommodation

Treehouse Nova is a pet-friendly complex consisting of colorful Portuguese-style buildings, featuring baroque architecture, with simple and artistic portals and windows. This complex has colourful burnt orange, cadmium yellow and sky blue buildings, scattered with arches and Dutch paintings. I live in the first blue building, which has a reception and lobby on the first floor. The lobby area is very attractive because it has an unusual tree-shaped bookshelf, a carrom board, a vending machine, and even a foosball table.

Weird elements such as murals and chandeliers in the lobby are a treat. This area is suitable for everyone-whether children or adults. The blue building next to where I live has a small swimming pool and a dining area.

Tree House Nova Suite

The Portuguese suites of Treehouse Nova are ideal for solo travelers, couples and families. They are warm and comfortable, equipped with air conditioning and modern facilities. I live in Suite 302 on the third floor: tastefully decorated Dutch tiles, sofa and bed, walk-in closet, desk, indoor safe, mini fridge and bar, 32-inch LED satellite TV, tea/coffee maker, mineral water And free high-speed Wi-Fi.

Suite Tree House Nova

The walls are covered in subtle tones and decorated with beautiful paintings. The ensuite bathroom does not have a bathtub, but is equipped with a beautiful mirror basin, a shower, and other facilities such as hot and cold running water and a hairdryer. As a suite guest, you can also request dental and shaving kits as well as irons and ironing boards.

For anyone looking for a long-term stay, another great choice is Treehouse Nova’s exquisite junior suites with kitchenettes. The junior suite kitchen is equipped with an induction cooker, a microwave, and necessary utensils for those who like to cook.

Dining at Treehouse Nova

Whether you choose to stay in a suite or a guest room, every guest is entitled to a free breakfast, and you can also order from their all-day a la carte menu. During my two-day stay, the breakfast was very hot and the dishes I ordered from the a la carte menu were very delicious. I had a great time dining here. Be sure to try their chicken lollipops, Lava fried shrimp, golden fried shrimp, Goan fish curry and sizzling chocolate for dessert. Room service is available 24/7.

Whether you are an archeologist or a history lover, a gourmet or an explorer: visiting South Goa will broaden your horizons in ways you never expected. Although the beach is still the main attraction of South Goa, I ended up exploring more during my stay in Treehouse Nova. From famous churches, sensational waterfalls, interesting restaurants, huge fortresses to charming museums, South Goa is full of traces of Portuguese rule. This is a fragment of my exploration. Hope it resonates with you, and you visit these places and indulge in similar things I did.

Watch the sunset at Arosm Beach

If Goa is called the place of sunset, then Arossim Beach in Cansorin is aptly suited for its fascinating night, with sunlight gradually disappearing in the waters of Kola Bay. The pristine and quiet beach of Arossim extends to Cuelim on one side and Cansaulim on the other. These three South Goa beaches are paved with clear sand and are only a few steps away from Treehouse Nova. I spent an evening at the stunningly beautiful and sparsely populated Arosm Beach, immersed in the stunning sunset against the turquoise waters of Kola Bay.

Explore the cultural heritage at the Goa Chitra Museum

The Ethnography Museum is a cabinet of curiosity, a collection of tangible collections and a tilt of intangible heritage. So I will not miss the opportunity to visit the Goa Chitra Museum, which is rated as the top contemporary museum in India. From farming equipment to illustrative exhibits, the Goa Chitra Museum displays hundreds of components that tell stories from different eras. Located in the former Portuguese colony of the coastal village of Benaulim, Goa, Goa Chitra takes you back to the time when agriculture was the mainstay of Goa. Visit this ethnographic museum and learn about more than 4,000 handicrafts focused on the folk agricultural lifestyle of Goa.

Founded by Victor-Hugo Gomes, this charming museum allows you to admire thousands of traditional tools, pottery, ancient carts, musical instruments, sedan chairs, wheels, utensils and tool. I am surprised by the ancient wisdom passed down from generation to generation and the recycling and reuse of doors, woodwork, pillars, windows, railings and other elements. If I have the opportunity to visit it again, I will not miss it again. Neither should you! Shooting is not allowed, but you can click on any number of pictures.

Visit the Three Kings Church

Goa is full of hundreds of exciting stories, and an urban legend hints at the haunted church of the Three Kings Church. The Church of the Three Kings is located on the top of Cuelim Hill in Cansaulim. It is one of the most haunted places in South Goa. Many people believe that the king’s soul is still hovering here. The myth says that this church “was once managed by three kings, who eventually killed each other in order to become the ultimate ruler. Buried in the church, the king’s soul still wandered around to protect the kingdom.

Although the king’s soul has never hurt anyone—many people claim that they have experienced supernatural encounters in the middle of the night. But leaving aside ghost stories, the Three Kings Church is a breathtaking place because it allows you to see the gifts of nature. The church does not allow visitors after 6 pm. Dare to visit? Well, I like it here!

Restaurants Near New Star Tree House, New Zealand

If you are tired of dining at the in-house restaurant, you will be happy to know that Treehouse Nova is located near two of the best restaurants in South Goa. These are Martin’s Corner in Betalbatim and the Pentagon in Majorda. I have eaten both, this is how I think about them!

Enjoy lunch at Martin Point

Living in Treehouse Nova means that I am not far from Martin’s Corner, a restaurant famous for its seafood and authentic Goan cuisine. Martin’s Corner is loved by celebrities all over the world, so I had to go to this South Goan restaurant to taste the exciting flavors it inspires. Amit and Namrata invited me to a great lunch and introduced me to its history in the first round of cocktails. I ordered Martin’s Delight, a “not too fancy” cocktail made from Pine fenny, pineapple juice, coconut syrup and lime juice. It tasted really good, put us in the right place and got drunk.

Martin Street Corner was originally a small restaurant with four tables, which has developed into an award-winning multi-cuisine restaurant over time. Today, it serves authentic Goan cuisine, as well as continental, North Indian and Oriental cuisine. Mrs. Carafina Pereira is the driving force behind this incredible restaurant, with a meticulous atmosphere and warm hospitality. For lunch, we enjoyed Goan Pork Sausage Chili Saute, Squid Masala Saute, Curry Prawn Rice, Goan Bread and Caramel Custard as dessert. Everything is so comforting! Can’t wait to come back and try their exotic platter.

Dinner at the Pentagon

Pifrin invited us to a sumptuous dinner at the Pentagon, the most luxurious restaurant in South Goa. This modest and refined venue is perfect for intimate celebrations, and is only a 10-minute drive from Treehouse Nova. I am very happy to come to this exquisite chalet-style restaurant, where we spent a very enjoyable time, indulging in delicious food, vintage cocktails and some very incredible live music. We even danced to the old classics. The evening kicked off with Moscow mules and mojitos, followed by authentic Goan cuisine.

Our order includes Goan Red Snapper, Butter Garlic Prawns, Goan Sausage Stuffed Naan and Rawa Mussels, cooked according to our preferences by skilled Pentagon chefs. Delicious food, wonderful atmosphere, very courteous staff and excellent service! Check all the correct boxes. The Pentagon Majorda is one of the most exquisite places in South Goa, so you have every reason to choose it.

Treehouse Nova is only 12 km from Dabolim International Airport.
