Troy Apke has been selected to the Washington football team for four consecutive years. In the past three years, he has not been a household name among all league fans. This year he made it to Washington’s list again, but for someone like him, this is a rare position. This year he was listed as a cornerback.
Apke was selected to the team’s 53-man roster as a cornerback, making him the first in 19 years to win National Football League The roster for that position.
The last one is Jason Seehorn of the New York Giants. His last season after a short career in the NFL was 2002.
Apke was selected from Pennsylvania State University in the fourth round of the 2018 NFL Draft, and he was listed as the fifth CB on the team’s 2021 roster. His 40-yard sprint time was 4.34 seconds, and he was praised for his hard work on a special team.
This is why Washington retains Troy Apke-Special Teams.

“The Trap is one of the best special team players in the league,” Washington coach Ron Rivera said this week National Broadcasting Corporation Sporty. “I mean, because of his speed, people have to make a game plan for him as a gunner and kick-off reporter. He was a good deputy for the punt return team, and he kicked the ball on the front line on the kick-off return. .”
In his first three seasons, Apke played a total of 33 games and he started 9 times. He played 651 fast breaks on defense and 520 on special teams. He completed 66 tackles and intercepted 1 pass.

Despite this, after three years of matches with this season’s outstanding special team, Apke is still nervous because the team reduced the roster to 53 players after just three preseason games.
“Obviously, you are a little nervous. But I think I have done my best in everything I did in the preseason and everything,” Apke said. “I put everything I can do there. So it really depends on them whether they want me or not, they did it, so I’m very happy.”
Although Apke is the first white player to appear on the NFL cornerback roster in 19 years, others have held this position in the past 20 years-but they just haven’t been included in that position. The catcher Julian Edelman participated in the game as a cornerback in the 2011 season.
Dustin Fox From the beginning of the 2006-08 season, he played very few games between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Buffalo Bills. He was listed as a defensive guard and had a total of 7 tackles in 12 games of his career. Ethan Kilmer is listed as a wide receiver for the Cincinnati Bengals, and he held multiple positions during the 2006 season. In the game against Drew Bris and the New Orleans Saints that season, he returned with a 52-yard interception and a total of 19 tackles.
But until now, no one has been listed as a cornerback.
Washington will start the season against the Los Angeles Chargers at home on September 12.
