The video of an adult man’s marriage proposal ruined by his mother has more than 9.4 million views on TikTok.
In the video, a TikTok user named @catdaddan wrote: “I wanted to propose to that girl, but my mother blocked it.”
The video showed him and his girlfriend smiling awkwardly by the stone wall, with a rural landscape behind them. His parents watched from behind the camera. The circular emoji and arrow overlaid on the video point to a small bump in the man’s right pocket.
The video then switches to the shot of his girlfriend standing on the wall. When the man’s mother protested, she excitedly placed her hand between her legs, “Danny, no! Come down! No!”
Then the video ended suddenly.

Many commentators on TikTok criticized the man for failing to complete the engagement despite the protests of his mother.
A netizen commented: “She was lucky at the time. Who would marry someone who asked her mother to pick a wife?”
However, this viral failure has a happy ending. In response to his criticism, @catdaddan posted a follow-up video. In it, he said, “So I didn’t propose marriage for obvious reasons.”
“but [my girlfriend] Not too lucky,” he continued. “To commemorate this moment, we ended up taking engagement photos on the wall,” he added.
Then his follow-up video showed images of him and his current fiancee hugging each other and touching their foreheads while standing together on a stone wall. The sun-drenched countryside stretches to the horizon behind them.
Of course, this is not the only video showing a wrong marriage proposal.
A sort of Videos that went viral in May Shows a lady’s fiance proposing during a cable car ride. The ride is at the Venetian Las Vegas Resort in Nevada.
The man proposed to marry him on one knee. After his girlfriend accepted, he stood up. But when he stood up and put the ring on her finger, he lost his balance and fell into the water.
Another video that became popular in early July showed a woman surrounded by two female friends when her boyfriend proposed marriage. However, when the woman turned around and saw her boyfriend with the ring box in her hand, Another man “kidnapped” the friend of the woman to her right.
The man put his hand on his friend’s mouth and dragged her aside. The kidnapped friend waved his arms and stared in shock. Fortunately, the “abductor” was only the woman’s husband, and he tried to ensure that his wife’s reaction would not cover up the marriage proposal itself.
The text covering the video reads: “So our cousin didn’t know about this proposal… We knew she would be extra. So her husband only has one job… Don’t spoil the romantic moment. The response to a better option exceeded our expectations.”
