Viral video shows customers fighting with bat-wielding cookie shop owners over mask rules

The two were arrested for refusing to wear masks in the store and charged with assaulting the owner of the biscuit shop.

According to KOIN News, a viral video of the incident on Wednesday showed that they entered the Crumb Together store in Eugene, Oregon. The shopkeeper told them that they could not enter the shop without wearing a mask.

“Do you not provide services to the public?” asked an invisible man with a camera that was recording the interaction.

“Yes, but the state requires you to wear a mask to enter any place,” the shopkeeper replied.

The man continued to argue that under federal law, the owner cannot refuse to serve him, and the owner insists that she can.

The host asked the two to leave and approach another person, a woman, and she told the host not to touch her.

“The worst thing you can do is put your hands on me now,” the woman said.

The shopkeeper did not touch her, but the woman pushed the shopkeeper, and then the shopkeeper went behind the counter to get the baseball bat.

“Go out now. Once I ask you to leave, don’t leave. I have the right to use reasonable force. Go out now,” the owner said. When she approached, the woman grabbed the bat, and when the quarrel began, the people in the store were no longer clearly visible in the picture.
