Hurricane Ida caused severe damage during the week-long trek from Cuba to Connecticut.It is saturated with big easy and big Apple. Now it passes through New England before entering the Atlantic, where it should disappear and retired its name.
Ada was originally a chaotic storm in the Caribbean Sea, and later turned into a chaotic tropical storm. It gained momentum before destroying Cuba, and it still became stronger as a Category 1 storm last Friday.
Ida stirred in the very warm waters of the Gulf of Mexico and rose to a Category 2 storm on Saturday night, but turned into a Category 4 storm within an hour and a half.
Hurricane Ida swept the coast of Louisiana at 150 mph on Sunday afternoon, becoming a Category 4 upper-level storm. (Note: Cat 5 storm will occur when the wind speed exceeds 155 mph)
Ida hit Port Fourchon, a parish town of LaFourche, next to Grand Island. The storm moved slowly inland, razed buildings to the ground with catastrophic winds, and dumped invisible rain.
Places like Laplace, Louisiana have suffered huge losses. All residents of New Orleans have no electricity, and 1 million users in the area have no electricity. A bridge in Lucerdale, Mississippi, collapsed, killing at least two people. Life-threatening floods occurred in Tennessee, West Virginia, and the Northeast.
On Wednesday night, a powerful tornado occurred in the Philadelphia-Southern New Jersey area. Ada continued to move north and east, destroying New York City with record rains and floods on Wednesday, even with tornado warnings and surveillance all night.
Mayor of new york Bai Sihao Residents have been urged to stay indoors during storm warnings of high winds, heavy rain, floods and tornadoes. He issued a state of emergency shortly before midnight.
“I declare a state of emergency in New York City tonight,” De Blasio wrote on Twitter. “Tonight we are experiencing a historic weather event, with record-breaking rainfall throughout the city, flooding, and dangerous roads.”

Now, the storm has entered the New England states, which dealt with Tropical Storm Henry only 10 days ago.
This is the third tropical system to hit the region this year after tropical storms Elsa and Henry and now Ada. Florida has only dealt with Elsa, not with anyone else.
