come and see What’s in my hospital bag for my second child. The first time, I packed enough for two to three days and ended up in the hospital for a longer time. Honestly, it wasn’t a big deal because my partner could run out and get what I needed.
Every mom’s experience is different, so if you think you need something, it doesn’t hurt to have it with you.
This time I’m sticking with the basics — and packing a few extras — just in case.
What’s in my baby hospital bag #2
robe + slippers: Since I’m shipping in the winter, I’ll bring a plush robe and slippers to stay warm and comfortable.
comfortable sweatshirt – Last time I came home in a flowy dress, it was very comfortable because it was summer in Australia. This time, I’m bringing a couple of oversized sweatshirts and a jumper for my home outfit.
panties – I just bought a couple of pairs Buddy Wear during postpartum recovery. They are so soft!
maternity pad + disposable underwear – I strongly recommend that you bring your own. While some say the hospital might provide you with these, I don’t want to have someone bring me a pad every time I need it. It’s a lot easier to get out of the bag.
nursing bra – I have some nursing bras and nursing boxes in my bag.I have listed some of my favorites in this postpartum recovery post.
sock: Pack a couple of pairs as my feet are always cold.
wash bag – Shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lip balm, lotion and some other essentials.
Snacks + Water Bottles – I don’t like hospital food, and I bet neither do you. I’m stocking up on my favorite snacks and some frozen treats just in case (though food is probably the last thing you want to think about when you’re giving birth.)
what not to forget – Your charger, music playlist and car seat! I also plan to bring a pen and notebook as I remember wishing I had one for the first time.
