YouTube co-founder Jawed Karim expressed his feelings about deleting dislikes, saying it is not a good idea for creators.
Karim shared his thoughts on YouTube itself, but not in the way you might expect.
Instead of uploading a new video, he updated the description of his earliest video-this is the first video posted on YouTube in history.
Earlier this week, YouTube announced its decision Delete dislike count comprehensive.
The dislike button will remain, but the total number of people who clicked on it will not be displayed publicly.
Matt Koval, YouTube’s creator liaison, announced the change, while claiming that it’s a positive move for creators.

Koval started his thinking by inferring that even YouTube’s creator liaison thought this change was a bad idea.
“Looking at Matt Kowal’s announcement about cancelling dislikes, I think something is wrong.
The tone of speech does not match the eyes. This video reminds me of an interview with General Jeremiah Denton in 1966. I have never seen anyone announce something that should be great with such enthusiasm and reluctance.
A person with the title of “YouTube Creator Liaison” said that removing dislikes is a good thing for creators, and it can’t be without conflict. We know this because no YouTube creator thinks it’s a good idea to delete dislikes—either for YouTube or the creator. “

Not only do YouTube creators dislike this idea, but ordinary users also widely agree with it.
At the time of writing, YouTube announcing this change has 13 times more dislikes than likes.
Karim continued to question why the change was made, implying that YouTube had hidden the real reason behind it.
“Why did YouTube make such a generally unpopular change? There is a reason, but it is not a good reason, and it is not a reason that will be publicly disclosed. Instead, various studies will be referenced. Obviously it is in line with the common sense of every YouTuber Contradictory research.”
I will not comment on speculations surrounding YouTube’s motives, as these have not been confirmed.

In the long run, Karim believes that the quality of the video will gradually improve as dislikes are eliminated.
