2021 Emmy Awards requires vaccination certificate, COVID-19 test negative


After the virtual awards ceremony during last year’s COVID-19 pandemic, this year’s awards season is resuming. As the public health crisis continues, the TV Academy has decided to make some requirements for the stars who will participate in the 2021 Emmy Awards.

The Television Academy announced on Thursday that participants and guests of the Primetime Emmy Awards and Creative Arts Emmy Awards will be required to show proof that they have been fully vaccinated against the coronavirus. Interestingly, they also need to provide the most recent negative COVID-19 test result.

“Additional requirements for participants have been issued: In addition to certificates of full vaccination with FDA or WHO authorized vaccines, participants of all four performances must provide proof of negative RT-PCR COVID test before entering the venue. Emmy Awards Ceremony,” TV Academy quoted Hollywood Report In a statement.

This year’s Emmy Awards 2021 is divided into four parts. The prime time awards ceremony will be held on September 19th. On the other hand, three separate ceremonies will be held on the weekend of September 11-12 in the creative arts activities that honor television program technology and other similar achievements.

All four ceremonies will be held in an air-conditioned tent on the LA Live event platform, just behind the Microsoft Theater.

The Television Academy also provides specific guidelines on proof of negative tests.

Those who participate in the creative arts festival on September 11 must take the test on or after September 9. Participants participating in the event on September 12 must take the test on or after September 10.At the same time, those attending the Primetime Emmys will be tested on or after September 17, according to deadline.

The organizers of the event are working closely with Los Angeles County health officials to ensure the safety of attendees and hosts at the ceremony. The Los Angeles State currently requires masks to be worn in commercial establishments, but the TV Academy has not yet decided whether to require participants to wear masks in tents this year.

In addition to the new requirements, the Television Academy also stated that it has added two categories to the Primetime Emmy Awards, which will be broadcast live on CBS and Paramount+ at 8pm Eastern Time. They are excellent variety show series and excellent variety show special (live).

As previously reported, despite the ongoing health crisis caused by delta variants, Hollywood is resuming its usual awards season. In addition to the Emmy Awards, Oscar has also drawn up the final schedule. 2021-2022 award season.

At the same time, under the controversial situation of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, NBC decided to cancel the broadcast of its awards ceremony, after which the Golden Globes were not held in 2022.
