In Rio in 2016, British team Won 67 Medals -Among them, 27 gold medals-ranked second on the medal list, second only to the United States and ahead of China.
This record is two more medals than they won at the 2012 London Olympics. In 2008, British athletes won 51 medals in Beijing.
The British sports agency, which funded the Olympics through the National Lottery Fund, said during the preparations for the Olympics that Tokyo may see some decline and set a broad target range of 45 to 70 medals.
It seems unlikely to reach the height of five years ago, but the British team still came to Japan with a large number of leading medal contenders.
