4 Great Cleaning and Eco-Friendly Products from Sephora

You may recall that last year I shared some of my new favorites from Sephora’s eco-friendly beauty category, Sephora Clean + Planet Positive Seal. It awards eco-conscious brands that meet specific pillars of the program (more on that below). I have four great products to share today (some new to me, some I’ve been using for a long time). They all have two things in common, they are both Clean + Planet Positive and available at Sephora!

This post is in collaboration with Sephora. Thank you for supporting my brand.

Here’s what it means to have a Clean + Planet Positive Seal at Sephora:

cleaning ingredients

Sephora Cleans refers to branded products that are free of phthalates, formaldehyde or formaldehyde releasers, oxybenzone and octoate, hydroquinone, triclosan, coal tar, and more.

Responsible Packaging

This means brands are designing their packaging with recyclability in mind. Innovate with refillable components, post-consumer recycled content (PCR), biomaterials, plant-based inks, and more.

Sustainable Sourcing

Cruelty-free, using only sustainably harvested palm oil and mica, no microplastics.

climate commitment

Brands must meet at least one of the following climate goals: carbon neutral operations, greenhouse gas reductions, or corporate offices and owned or leased operations powered by 100% renewable energy.

Environmental donation

Brands must donate at least 1% of their profits to a high-impact, long-term giving program that runs over many years, or a certified B-rated company.

SAIE SUN MELT Natural Cream Bronzer

How much do you know now if you follow me anywhere on the internet I love this creamy bronzer from Saie. It’s lightweight, buildable, blends into your skin, looks absolutely gorgeous, and provides the best natural sun-kissed glow. It’s also made with skin-soothing ingredients like colloidal oatmeal and vitamin E to hydrate the skin. Saie also happens to be one of my favorite eco-conscious clean beauty brands, with plans to be carbon neutral by 2023. Saie uses ethically sourced, recyclable components and its cartons are made from 100% FSC recycled paper in a neutral facility.

I like to apply the bronzer to my cheekbones, chin and hairline (wear a light bronzer underneath). You can see a video of how I applied it here.

alpyn beauty Melt Moisturizer with Bakuchiol and Squalane

This is a really cool brand I discovered through Sephora. If you are looking for more mature skin, alpyn beauty Melt Moisturizer with bakuchiol and squalane is a good choiceA lot of my favorite skincare ingredients in one product, including aloe vera and squalane for hydration, bakuchiol for lines, and vitamin C for radiance enhancement. It has an almost matte feel on the skin, so it’s great under makeup and in summers (wearing it in the photo above with my makeup on). alpyn beauty donates a portion of sales to Planet’s 1%. Their cartons are made from 100% recycled paper and use recycled glass, FSC certified paper and vegetable inks.

BIOSSANCE Squalane + Seaweed Eye Cream

I’ve been using it for over a year and this is mine night eye cream. It’s rich and creamy and incredibly hydrating. Perfect for my super dry skin. Seaweed Peptide Complex helps target fine lines and wrinkles. Of course, I also love that it’s cruelty-free, vegan, and free of synthetic fragrances. It also contains moisturizing, sustainably sourced squalane (they save 2 million sharks each year with sugarcane-derived squalane). For my dry skin and under eyes, it’s a game changer.

Youth to the People Polypeptide – 121 Future Cream

After my endless quest to learn as much as possible about skincare, I’ve recently learned a lot about peptides after one of my beauticians suggested I try a moisturizer that contains peptides. I am very excited about this new product, Youth to the People Polypeptide – 121 Future Cream. Collagen is made up of three polypeptide chains, so adding peptides can create a stronger skin barrier, making skin look plumper and firmer. Sign me up! YTTP also supports nonprofit organizations working to mitigate global warming, advocate for renewable energy, and advocate and educate about net-zero emissions strategies. They are also reducing plastic waste by using glass to make bottles and jars. I have been using this cream at night and it works great.
