7 ways to help you generate more recommendations

John Jantsch’s Marketing Podcast

In this episode Tape Marketing Podcast, I am doing the first part of a solo exhibition series, in which I will introduce one of my favorite topics: recommendation.

Key points:

In a recent Texas Tech Survey, 89% of 2,000 consumers claimed that they have a company they like very much, and they would be happy to recommend it—only 29% actually did it. Why is there such a gap? One of the main reasons is that they are not required to do so.

In this series, I will introduce the seven grades of recommended fuels I call. I am unraveling the first of seven specific strategies or methods that will definitely help you generate more recommendations for your business.

Topics covered by me:

  • [1:22] Seven grades of recommended fuel
  • [3:59] Why people don’t recommend a company they like
  • [5:23] Recommend to eliminate decision risk
  • [6:54] How getting a referral affects the lifetime value of newly acquired customers
  • [8:53] Introduce recommended ideas in the sales process
  • [9:58] Calculate your customer success quotient
  • [12:42] Focus on every customer interaction
