Liberal Democratic Party health spokesperson Munira Wilson (Munira Wilson) said that Mr. Javid’s tweets were “outrageous” and thousands of people were still hospitalized with Covid-19.
She said in a statement: “His careless words insulted all men, women and children who followed the rules and stayed at home to protect others.”
“He owes an apology to all of them, especially the millions of protectors.”
Mr. Johnson’s quarantine in his Checkers country house is expected to end on Monday, as will Mr. Sunak.
The two initially tried to avoid isolation by saying they were participating in a test flight, but in the face of widespread public criticism, they made concessions.
Mr. Javid replaced Matt Hancock as Minister of Health last month when the scandal-struck predecessor stepped down amid public anger after leaked CCTV footage showed him kissing an assistant in violation of coronavirus regulations.
The successor is seen as more strongly supporting the removal of coronavirus restrictions, and most of the remaining legal rules in England ended on Monday.
