To say that the media is hostile under the leadership of Donald Trump would be an understatement of this century. Now some reporters have accomplished their entire careers by creating scenes in the briefing room and insisting that Trump’s every move will bring the end of the country. Self-righteousness is a feature, not a mistake in the news industry.
Then Joe Biden took over and everything changed.Suddenly, not only can reporters be reprimanded (see Oops: Joe Biden lost to a CNN reporter in a shocking old rant), this is what the reporter’s own network wants to defend (see The media now praise Joe Biden for verbally attacking reporters). Biden’s anger at reporters asking basic questions has become a common theme in his short tenure.
This incident happened again at the White House today. Biden suddenly appeared in front of NBC News reporters, saying that she felt “neck pain” when asking about the vaccine mission of Veterans Affairs staff.

The irony is that Kelly O’Donnell almost certainly supports Biden’s move, but he cannot describe and realize that he is dealing with an ally who might provide him with softball. Aging is a factor.
In any case, O’Donnell should not regard the President’s insulting her on a basic issue as a compliment. On the contrary, if Donald Trump said the same thing to her, how she should accept it is almost certainly offense and outrage. Her colleagues should do the same, because this is how they reacted when Trump poked them.
Oops, I can hear Jim Acosta’s monologue. “No, Mr. President, we are not your neck pain, we are the truth tellers and stewards of this democratic country,” followed by some rants about how Trump has put their lives at risk by attacking journalists. But because it was Joe Biden, no one cared. On the contrary, the press is almost happy that the current president insulted them. Isn’t he such an interesting person?
All this shows is what we already know-all the gnashing of Trump’s threats to press freedom is nothing more than partisan politics. These reporters have never seriously cared about the health of themselves or their industry. On the contrary, they believe that Trump is frightened by every word of the media in order to advance the political narrative that he is uniquely evil in a way.
In contrast, Acosta, O’Donnell and others will not treat Biden with the same standard because they are on the same side as Biden. If they admit it, all this will be much easier.
