Bills has withdrawn from Thursday’s individual all-around competition to focus on her mental health. The 24-year-old player will be evaluated every day before it can be determined whether she will participate in the individual event finals next week.

The US Gymnastics team said in a statement Wednesday: “After further medical evaluation, Simone Byers withdrew from the final individual all-around competition.” “We wholeheartedly support Simone’s decision and commend her for her happiness. Courage in the first place. Her courage once again shows why she is a role model for so many people.”
In the US all-around game, Byers will be replaced by Jed Carey.
The individual women’s gymnastics competition is scheduled every day from August 1st to 3rd. These competitions included vaulting and floor exercises, both of which allowed Byers to win the gold medal at the 2016 Rio Olympics.

Five years ago, Byers won four gold medals and one bronze medal at the Olympics.
After Byers withdrew from the game, the American team won the silver medal in Tuesday’s game.
