ovid-19 case Rate Has fallen into every local authority UK – This is the first time this has happened in all areas at the same time since the start of comparable data more than a year ago.
In the seven days to July 26, none of the 315 local authorities recorded weekly interest rate increases.
Middlesbrough England currently has the highest rate of new cases, but it has dropped sharply from 1,421.5 cases per 100,000 people to 695.8 cases per week.
The biggest declines were Redcar and Cleveland, which fell from 1,520.2 to 668.6.
The Pennsylvania News Agency compiled the case rate based on data released by the British Department of Public Health on Friday.
These numbers represent an almost complete shift earlier this month.
As recently as July 16, interest rates fell in only four of the 315 local authorities in England.
Since then, more and more regions started to see their interest rates drop, eventually reaching all 315 regions on July 26.
Comparable data on the Covid-19 case rate can be traced back to June 2020, when large-scale testing for the coronavirus was established nationwide for the first time.
Since then, the case rate has been rising in at least one place in England—until now.
The latest data indicate that the third wave of coronavirus outbreak that began at the end of May may have reached its peak.
However, separate data released by the Office of National Statistics (ONS) on Friday showed that the Covid-19 infection rate in most parts of the UK is still rising, which means that it is too early to say that the peak period must have passed.
In the coming weeks, any changes in the long-term trend of infections may become clearer.
