Design and features

This lawn mower is similar to other SnapFresh products: it is almost entirely made of plastic and has a rich signature yellow-green color. Although other lawn mowers use a lot of plastic, they still feel sturdy and durable, while lawn mowers feel very cheap and easily damaged. This is a small lawn mower, apparently designed for people with very small yards, such as those living in townhouses or apartments. The overall shape is similar to a traditional lawn mower, but where people expect to find the engine, there is a small compartment for storing the battery. In general, it looks and feels like a child’s toy.
Installation and setup
When the box arrived, I was not sure what was in it. It seems too small for a lawn mower, but sure enough, that’s it inside. It is fragmented, so the first thing I do is to assemble it. No tools are needed, instructions are sufficient. This is the time-lapse video (1080p) I assembled it. It took about 20 minutes:
The lawn mower provides two ways of mowing. I can insert a plug in the back, which will cause the grass to fall out of the bottom of the mower — no side discharge — or I can install a grass collector.

The second thing I did was to adjust the height of the mowing. This lawn mower uses a spring mechanism and three slots to adjust the height of the mowing. This is easy to set up and works well. I ran all the tests at the highest setting.

The lawn mower is equipped with a battery and a charger. It takes several hours to fully charge, so the third thing I did was to put the battery into the existing SnapFresh charger on the charger wall and charge the battery. The last thing I did was to insert the battery and insert the security key, setting it to “on”. The lawn mower is ready!
Performance

Since this is a battery-powered lawn mower, there is no need for gasoline or motor oil, no need to repeatedly press the primer bulb, and no need to yank the starter rope. It can be easily activated by squeezing one of the handles and pressing the start button. I found this to be 100% reliable, because SnapFresh’s lawn mower is activated for the first time every time.

Due to the plastic structure, the lawn mower is ultra-light, especially when compared to self-propelled lawn mowers. It is very light and can easily be handled by a child—preferably with some adult supervision—or an elderly person. There is a handle on the top, I can lift the entire lawn mower effortlessly with one hand.
To test the battery life, I fully charged the battery and ran the lawn mower to see how long it was running. Under no-load conditions, it ran for more than 41 minutes, which is a considerable amount of time. This should be long enough to complete most small codes.
You can see these and more features in the following video (1080p):
Unfortunately, I have many questions about this lawn mower. One, because SnapFresh’s lawn mower is mainly made of plastic, I don’t think it will last long. If something breaks or breaks, it may be the first grass catcher to walk. At the current price of $300, such a fragile price is too expensive.

Second, it is very narrow; the width of the cutting blade is less than 13 inches. Every time I pass the ball in the yard it feels like I hardly cut anything. Unless your yard is very small, less than 0.2 acres, using this lawn mower can be frustrating; on the other hand, if you do have a small yard, then this will not be a problem. The lawn mower will certainly not take up much space in your garage or shed.

Third, the wheels on this lawn mower are plastic, very small, 5.5 inches in diameter. Although a lawnmower with larger wheels can roll over uneven terrain in the yard, I found that this lawnmower often gets stuck. If your yard is as smooth as a green, no problem! However, for most codes, this will be a deterioration.
Fourth, the effect of grasping grass is not good. When I tested the lawn mower, I only used the grass collector because I wanted to pour the grass around some of my bushes. Although it caught some of the cut grass, it did not catch all the grass. I was surprised how many remained on the ground. I think because the catcher is made of plastic, it is not heavy to keep the seal on the exit hole at the rear of the lawn mower, so it will let a lot of grass fall to the floor.
Finally, the nails on the coffin lack power. SnapFresh’s lawn mower cannot mow my lawn. Whether I am cutting Bermuda, Zoysia or just cutting grass, it keeps stopping and stopping. My lawn is not that high or that thick, and the lawn mower is in the highest position, but it can’t handle it. I estimate that this lawn mower needs at least three times the current power.

Final thoughts
SnapFresh’s cordless lawn mower is powered by a 20V/4.0ah battery and is equipped with a charger. It is small and light. Although I appreciate SnapFresh’s environmentally friendly mowing method, this lawn mower has too many problems: insufficient power, narrow body, short wheels, and almost all plastic construction, which is unlikely to last for a long time. If you want to get rid of the gas engine lawn mower, I think you should give up this one and look at its competitors.
