Huawei CFO Meng Wanzhou’s lawyer claims that the U.S. misled the BC court


Vancouver-Attorney HuaweiThe chief financial officer said that the United States has malicious in the extradition process Meng Wanzhou And the Supreme Court of British Columbia should suspend the lawsuit against her.

In a document submitted to the court on Wednesday, her lawyer claimed that when the United States requested the extradition of Meng from Canada, it misrepresented and omitted evidence to prove the fraud.

The document stated that misleading evidence undermined the fairness of the extradition hearing and the integrity of the judicial system.

Attorney General’s lawyers are expected to respond to claims for abuse of procedures in the next few days, and the actual extradition hearing is scheduled for later this month.

Meng was accused of misrepresenting Huawei’s relationship with technology company Skycom during a meeting with HSBC in 2013, putting the bank at risk of violating US sanctions on Iran-both she and Huawei have denied this allegation.

Meng was arrested in 2018 and is currently on bail, living in her home in Vancouver.
