CNN fired three employees because they violated company policy and entered the office without the Covid-19 vaccine. Reporting by Michael Greenbaum of the New York Times and Oliver Darcy of the network.
Grynbaum and Darcy quoted CEO Jeff Zucker’s memo to report that CNN has adopted a “zero tolerance policy” for unvaccinated employees in the office.
“In the past week, we learned that three employees came to the office without being vaccinated. All three were fired. Let me be clear-we have a zero tolerance policy on this,” The memo said, according to Darcy.
The network is one of several news organizations including The Washington Post and Politico, which will require employees to be vaccinated against Covid-19 as a condition of employment or they want to return to work in person.
CNN representatives did not immediately respond to Insider’s request for comment.
