Where are the artists who top the charts in music and who look at things from a conservative perspective? Believe it or not, they do exist.
Rich Fury Is a retired pastor in Colorado. He is a humble man, looking much younger than his seventy-seven duties on this planet suggest. He and his wife have been married for more than 50 years and have many children and grandchildren. Lest anyone wants to know “Oh, this is great, but what does it have to do with some music worth listening to…”
…So does he Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
As early as the 1960s, when popular music began to rediscover the role of its long-neglected social commentary voice, there was a period of time when a band proved groundbreaking in its influence on a generation of music-ending with the Eagles-and with Its lyrical tendency is modern culture as a whole. Despite the importance of the band, the work of its members after the disbandment proved to be even more important in music and social change. The band is Buffalo Springfield. One of its three-headed monster leaders? Rich Fury.
Although in terms of public recognition, Furay still lags far behind the other main members of Buffalo Springfield, namely Stephen Stills and Neil Young, in terms of guitar, vocals and songwriters, Furay is an important element of the band’s sound. His “Good Woman” became the main content of the band’s catalog. This track perfectly captures the unimaginable fusion of the revolutionary country and rock at the time. Turn on any modern country or classic rock radio station and you will hear the full impact of Furay’s work. He didn’t invent country rock single-handedly, but Furay was one of the first (if not the first) artists to make it work.
After the death of Buffalo Springfield, Furay assembled a group of like-minded artists for a new band called Poco. Poco has never made significant progress in business, but is respected by its fans and peers for its complete (if not fully defined) country rock genre.
Furay eventually left the band and gathered with veteran artists JD Souther and Chris Hillman; it was during this time in 1974 that Frye returned to Christ. In the years that followed, Fry focused more on the priest’s duties than on music, although he still recorded and performed.And, as his following clip Recent album Show (new album coming soon), he still has his ability to create lyrics and music, through his clear voice and light tenor presentation, hit the high notes effortlessly.
Richie Furay broke the tradition of a rock artist. He is a downright and unapologetic conservative who is not afraid to speak through songs, as these examples show.
He often talks about political views on his Facebook page, where he interacts with his fans politely and directly. This in itself breaks the pattern of most rock stars and celebrities who like to keep their fans as far away as possible.
This is a deal.When you have an artist who is so accomplished in music, even Rolling Stone Respect him, you have some people worthy of support. So let’s get started. Crying with each other does not change the things that are worth licking. Instead, start talking about someone who plays the guitar very well. Buy a CD or download it. Stop those smug leftist friends from saying: “Oh, really? Listen. Here. Here.”
