Several school districts in Florida have expressed their willingness to defy Governor Ron DeSantis’s executive order to ban the wearing of masks, making a showdown imminent. Red State Report Regarding the mutiny that occurred, the question is how the governor will respond.
He has apparently decided to fight back for the first time, and the Florida Board of Education (in close cooperation with DeSantis) passed an emergency rule that allows parents to send their children to other schools through vouchers.
Breaking news: The Florida Board of Education has approved an emergency rule that allows parents to provide private school vouchers if they believe their children are being harassed by the school district’s COVID-19 safety policy, including the requirement to wear a mask. https://t.co/cXYVD2W7UE

This is a good first step, although more stringent measures may be needed in the future to ensure that parents can make choices when they wear a disgusting, dirty petri dish on their child’s face.
I am not proficient in Florida law, especially dealing with financial mechanism issues, so I don’t know how far DeSantis can go. Can he withdraw all the funds from a school that disobeyed the order? If he knew that this might hurt some parents and students who have nowhere to go, would he want to do it? These are complex issues, and what DeSantis wants to do and what he can do may conflict.
In any case, this is a good first step for parents to make choices when faced with a school district that wants to complain about science and data. There is plenty of evidence (see here and here) Said that the mask injunction is invalid for adults. There is even more reason to believe that they have no effect on children, and they are no longer the main carriers of transmission.
In addition, all teachers have the opportunity to be vaccinated. In addition, children are largely unaffected by COVID, including the Delta variant, and any sane person must ask why the school board mandates to wear a mask. These are all virtue signal theaters, and DeSantis knows this.
I would also like to say that moving to such a credential system is something that every state should do. If you need to counter the rule of wearing a mask to get the ball rolling, that’s fine for me and most other people who support school choice. There is no reason to continue wasting money in failed public schools because the money can be passed directly to parents to decide how they want to educate their children. It would be great if it was a private school. If you are self-study at home, that would be great. The members of the ultra-left school board who performed to the applause of the Washington Democrats should not have the kind of power they currently impose on people’s children.
DeSantis continued to not flinch in the fight, which is why he is so respected in conservative circles. But other than that, he is doing the right thing. We do not live in a state of medical insurance, and it has been a long time since people no longer accept this reality.
