The rebellion of some Florida school boards against the legal power of Governor Ron DeSantis is heating up.
In short, what happened was that Governor DeSantis issued an executive order prohibiting school districts from creating so-called mask missions. The order allows schools to encourage the wearing of masks, but sensibly allows parents to choose not to wear masks. This is a typical conservative position. We know that wearing a rooster on the head can prevent the spread of any respiratory virus just like wearing a mask. It can be said that if the rooster flaps its wings, it will do more. This does not mean that you cannot wear a rooster or a mask if you want to. It means that you have no right to make my child wear a mask, just to make you feel good about yourself. Some lower wattage blue checks are unclear on this concept.

Broward County continues to vote to establish a mask authorization. Then the state attorney general talked to them, and they changed their minds. Then some other counties in Florida decided to rebel. Duval (Jacksonville), Alachua (Gainesville), Leon (Tallahassee) and Gadsden (Tallahassee suburbs) counties voted to enforce mask wearing. Since then, things have started to escalate. What is happening here is high-risk gambling. DeSantis is clearly the main candidate for the Republican presidential nomination in 2024.
