Review – The flashlight is an important safety item. If you need bright light, it usually means carrying a headlight with you. Headlight = headlight, right? If you are carrying Thrunite’s new Catapult Mini, not!

Catapult Mini is a high-performance flashlight Modeled in the style of Thrunite Catapult V6 SST70 Flashlight, It’s just a lot smaller. It has five different intensity modes and strobe modes.

Design and features
I mentioned above that the style of Catapult Mini was designed after Catapult V6. See if you agree.
That is the catapult on the left and the mini on the right. But you have figured it out, right?
Mini, like Catapult, feels well made. It is strong, and it feels like it can withstand some abuse.
Unscrew the base, we can see the two halves plus a 1100mAh lithium-ion battery.
There is a small hole at the end of the flashlight, which is used to connect the wrist strap.
On the business side, we saw polished reflectors emitting lumens.
The center of the power button contains a small status LED. It is blue when in use and charging, and red when charging.
On the other side, we found a rubber cover that protects the charging port.
The USB-C charging port is located under the cover.
set up
After the flashlight is in your hand, partially unscrew it to ensure that the battery will not run out. Once you screw the two halves tightly together and charge it up, you are ready to light up the world.
Performance
To operate the flashlight and switch between modes, everything is controlled by a button as shown below.
- When turned off, quickly press four times to enable/disable the lock mode. When locked, the button will not turn on the light.
- When it is off, press and hold the button to enable the firefly (0.5lm) mode with a running time of 106 hours.
- When it is off, click once to turn on the standard lighting mode used last time.
- When on, press and hold to cycle between the three standard lighting modes
- Low, 21lm, 12 hours running time
- Medium, 96 lumens, 4 hours runtime
- High, 235lm, 80 minutes running time
- When closing or opening in any mode, double click to enable Turbo mode, 680lm, 70 minutes runtime
- When closed or opened in any mode, the strobe mode can be enabled with three clicks, 680lm, 30 minutes running time
- In any mode, click to close
The proof of the flashlight lies in the light it produces, so let’s take a look at the output of the Catapult Mini.
For testing, I used the closet again almost completely dark.
Let’s start with the firefly mode of 0.5lm. This is great as a night light. The operating time is 106 hours, which is very suitable as an emergency light.
Dialed to low (21lm), we saw more.
Jump to medium (96lm) and more becomes visible.
At high places (235lm), we see more.
Finally, we maximize the turbo (680lm) to get the brightest view.
One thing to note is that it is more like a spotlight than a floodlight. The beam is quite narrow.
This is a beam photo on a wall about 12 feet from the flashlight.
The usable beam is only about one foot wide and the distance is 12 feet. It will not illuminate a large area, but where it illuminates, it illuminates well.

Final thoughts
If you are looking for a small and portable EDC flashlight, Thrunite Catapult Mini is your best choice. Even if the beam is very narrow, it can emit a lot of light and provide excellent running time. This is a great little light that can be placed in a backpack, in a car, or even in a pocket. With its multiple lighting modes, it is a multifunctional small light, think it is a bigger light.
