After the “drug ship” ran aground on the beach, Spanish swimmers arrested the suspect in Spain

The crowd quickly caught one of the men and pushed him to the ground when he tried to cross the beach. “He is like an animal released from a cage,” an onlooker Tell news agency Atlas. “He doesn’t know which way to go because he is everywhere.”

The police arrived in a few minutes. By that time, beach visitors-reportedly including a police officer off duty-had pinned one of the men to the ground, while others had avoided going into the water at night to keep an eye on the whereabouts of the second man.

Guardia Civil stated that someone was arrested at the scene and another man was later detained nearby.

When the police took an arrested man off the beach, the crime-fighting beach tourists went to the place where the boat ran aground to see what was on the boat.

“Dear Mother of God,” one exclaimed, and the other lifted a fragile plastic cover to reveal two dozen neatly packed packages. Police later stated that the ship was transporting more than 700 kilograms (1,540 pounds) of marijuana.

The bold behavior of beach tourists was later praised by the Police Association. “Thank you all, because without you, nothing would be possible,” Jucil Tweet.

In an interview with reporters the next day, people on the scene emphasized the speed of the incident. “We were sunbathing and suddenly we heard a ship approaching at full speed,” a woman said.
