Do you celebrate America, or are you more enlightened?
In Fairfax, Virginia, those in power can proudly recognize the latter.
Every year on July 13 Fairfax County, Virginia Board of Supervisors Agenda, The county looks forward to “the American Revolution, the War of Independence, and the half-fifth anniversary of the independence of the United States of America.”
Due to the importance of 2026, the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors “established a seven-person working group responsible for providing recommendations to the County Board of Supervisors on the preferred method.”
Question: “Organize and lead county-wide efforts to achieve inclusive remembrance, celebration, and remembrance…”
One of the first steps to success is a major issue related to culture.
“[I]It is important to address the topic of word choice, language and information first,” the organization asserted.
So, what should be done in the spirit of tolerance?
To find out, the committee looked at a survey funded by the state.
In 2019, the Virginia Tourism Company hired Wilkening Consulting to conduct a project called Americans, our history and the 250s.
“The analysis carried out,” the report affirmed, “is objective, scientific, and covers a very broad and diverse population.”
[T]His research shows:
- Our values, attitudes, and beliefs affect how we view the past… The differences in our country extend to history.
- This history is highly valued… but lack of inclusiveness is an obstacle to participation.
- However, most people hold the values of respect and respect for our country…and hope to recognize it in 2026
The researchers divided the participants into two groups-basically awake and unawake:
[T]His research shows that across the country, there are two kinds of values in a wider population, traditional and modern (meaning new or modern ideas).
Are you a traditionalist?
Traditional clusters mainly value freedom, courage, American dream, exceptionalism and opportunity.
Or do you like the new Americanism?
Modern clusters value equality, diversity and tolerance.
Obviously, they woke up.
60% of respondents said they would celebrate the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States. However, this number is “severely biased towards those in the traditional cluster.”
On the contrary, many survey respondents believe that the 250th anniversary is simply a celebration of the possibility of our past is inappropriate…
This is because “our country and communities still face very real challenges today.”
Modern clusters comprise an important part of a wider population, more uniformly expressing their desire for the 250th, providing opportunities for thoughtful and inclusive experiences that transcend our founding, tolerate our differences, explore our diverse history, and look forward to the future And the possibility of increasing equality, justice and freedom.
in conclusion:
[T]His research suggests the use of this term commemorate To ensure that the event is inclusive and attracts a wide and diverse audience.
“Important research, research, evaluation and discussion led to the decision to use the term “remembrance”,” the report assured.
Below is more information about the results of the study, by Daily Telegraph:
[Museum consultant Susie Wilkening], She wrote that she “as a white woman with rich life experience” and her “behavior is heavily biased towards liberalism.” She said that the research she conducted found that conservatives…and the community, “not so much. “Curious” and “often older, more men, and less educated”.
Could they also be Trump supporters?
If so, some people—including lecturers in upcoming college courses—may argue that they should not be admitted:

Of course, in the end, they are not.
Statement from the working group:
For all these reasons, although there will obviously be many things to celebrate and celebrate in 2026, we believe that commemoration is the preferred term for the 250th anniversary
At least it’s a celebration—that is, commemorate– It still happens.
In retrospectives, will people like George Washington be praised as great?
I would say this is extremely unlikely.
But to a certain extent, given the contemporary social consciousness, we are a miracle even for several years:

Happy early in the 250s.
In fact, since it is not worth celebrating, I think it is not happy.
I confess to you At the beginning of 250.
May all your ideas are modern.
