Did you hear it? This is the voice of the Democrats withdrawing in a hurry for Joe Biden’s Afghanistan disaster. Although there are still real believers, such as Senator Chris Murphy and Rep. Adam Kinsinger (see what I did there?), others are now talking about the current evacuation efforts that might fail.
Among everyone, Rep. Adam Schiff last night attacked Biden and his administration’s false statements by sharing details of a confidential briefing that showed how fragile the situation is.

Let’s stop here, because I want to discuss the timetable.
Today is August 24, and there is only one week left before the August 31 deadline.Taliban has Come out and pants Biden told him that if we exceed that date, there will be consequences. However, although a week is almost impossible for everyone to evacuate, including the tens of thousands of Americans who may be trapped in Afghanistan, we will not be able to evacuate until the 31st. Instead, the operation must be closed a few days ago to allow time for our troops to evacuate.
This is what the White House did not admit in their confusion and obsession with the 31st. The clock was ticking, and the time was much less than indicated.
However, Schiff is not finished yet. He went on to basically call Biden and Pentagon officials liars.
In the end, Schiff said that the intelligence community is very clear that the Taliban is capable of taking over the country.
“Intelligence agencies have become increasingly pessimistic about the Afghan government’s assessment of its ability to maintain itself,” he said. (More)— Ryan Nobles (@ryanobles) August 24, 2021
Schiff’s view was endorsed by Intel committee member Jason Crow:

Biden has Often claim There is no intelligence to suggest that what we are seeing today may happen. Schiff said the opposite here based on a confidential briefing, and pointed out that in the past six months (!) there were intelligence reports that not only pointed to the collapse of the Afghan government, but it could happen quickly. Given Schiff’s normal obedience to the White House message, this is a remarkable change.
What all this says to me is that this evacuation is doomed to fail, and the mouse is jumping off the ship now. It is impossible for us to have all Americans on the ground (not just in Kabul) before the 31st, especially considering that many of them need to be rescued separately outside the airport line. Unfortunately, we are paying attention to the major hostage crisis that will form in the near future. When the end of the month comes, we still have thousands of Americans trapped, and the Taliban will seek to extract their next pound of meat. Things will get very bad, and there is no reason to believe that Biden is ready for the challenge.
