Design and features
Harber London’s leather crossbody bag looks simple and beautiful. The exterior material is full-grain leather that has been carefully tanned and has a semi-gloss luster. The out-of-the-box natural texture is soft and extremely flexible. Except for the top zipper, strap loops, and the extra leather layer at the bottom of the bag, most of the stitching is hidden in the internal seams.
There are no external pockets or markings except for a very small logo printed on one side.
The included shoulder strap is a soft and durable fabric with leather and metal hooks and thin leather shoulder pads. There is also a leather tag at the end of the tightening strap.
The top of the bag has a silver double zipper opening, and the zipper puller is made of the same leather as the rest of the bag.
In general, the appearance and structure of the external materials are what I think is classic, borrowing their own adjectives, eternal. In addition to the novelty of the material, looking at this bag, it is easy to imagine that it has a history of 50 to 100 years.
The inside of the bag is easy to access, with many pockets and a row of leather loops for easy organization.
On one side of the bag is a large tablet pocket with an integrated magnetic clasp. Three small pockets of the same size are sewn on the length of the outside of this large pocket, and leather loops are buckled on the outside of these pockets.
There are 3 small rings for pencils or pens, one for the middle ring for earphones/AirPods, and one large ring for fixing the charging cable.
There is also an ingenious magnetic leather keychain, which may be the coolest little “bonus” for bags I have ever seen. The circular magnetic clasp on the keychain is designed to release only when it is pulled directly out of the bag. However, when you put the key in the bag and hover around the magnet, the clasp will suddenly snap into place.
When securing the keychain, it feels like a snap closure, but it will not be removed by pulling it away from the magnet or to any side, but only by sliding it “up” towards the opening of the bag. This is really a very clever design. The leather keychain is quite small and beautiful. When you are not in your bag, you will definitely not mind hanging the key on the key.
On the other side of *all these pockets* is the laptop compartment, which includes a large leather strap that can be snapped on the inside of the bag to secure your computer.
There is an elastic pocket on the side of this laptop pocket, which can hold 16-20 ounces. Water bottle or small umbrella.
Of course, this bag is large enough to hold basic pads, most letter paper or smaller notebooks and folders. I found that the only small things needed are a few small straps on the top of the bag to form a handle, so that you can choose to remove the shoulder strap and use it as a small briefcase. I found myself picking up the bag by pinching the middle of the top of the box, because the box often falls on the top of the shoulder strap.
Another potential pain point may be price. The 13-inch messenger bag sells for more than $300, which may not be worth mentioning to many people.
