Trade lace with Antwerp | Museum

I am very interested in your editorial in Antwerp (August 17). In the past 20 years, I have had the opportunity to visit this beautiful city many times and work with curators there. Today it is an underrated city. As you said, British merchants used to sell wool there; we also bought their lace in the 17th and 18th centuries.

This week, the Bowes Museum sent a box of the best Flemish lace from the 17th and 18th centuries to a major exhibition in Antwerp, which highlighted the city’s important role in lace production and trade.
