With the popular puppy boom, demand for pet-friendly UK rentals has soared

“Becoming a pet owner is a long-term commitment, so what is really worth considering is the impact this may have on the rental market in the future. This sends a signal to landlords that if they consider allowing well-behaved pets then it may be more important. Potential tenants are open.”

The government supports the right of tenants to keep pets. Last year, it announced that it would rewrite the standard lease agreement in the UK, including allowing furry friends to stay at home.

However, experts warn that if there is no legislation, many landlords will only continue to use pet-free agreements.
