Thousands of music lovers came to the beach for a weekend to participate in the largest metropolitan music festival in the UK.

The event came back after it was cancelled last year due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Participants are required to provide a negative lateral flow test or double vaccination or proof of natural immunity this year to enter.

The request prompted the former Verve singer Richard Ashcroft Withdraw from the three-day holiday last month.

The festival organizer wrote on Twitter: “After extensive discussions on the measures we have taken to reduce the risks for visitors, artists and workers at this year’s festival, Richard Ashcroft will no longer Perform at the event.”

Ashcroft previously withdrew from the Sheffield Tram Festival, saying he would not appear in any restricted activities.

On Sunday night’s headline news, Nile Rodgers and his band Chic, created, produced and performed albums that sold more than 500 million copies, including Michael Jackson, Madonna, David Bowie, Prince, Mick Jagger, Diana Ross , Daft and other stars’ hits punk and Pharrell Williams.

The headline news on Friday night was the ska band Madness, which is known for hits such as Our House, Baggy Trousers and It Must Be Love.
