Although Governor Gavin Newsom committed many crimes against the people of California, it was this crime that defeated a Governor named Gray Davis. Do you remember him? He was the governor of California, and he was deposed (by a large margin) in 2003 and then replaced.

As temperatures in California and most of the west are expected to be higher than normal, the state’s grid manager issued a Flex Alert, which will take effect on Wednesday afternoon, calling for voluntary power savings.
According to the California Independent System Operator, the Flex Alert will take effect from 4 to 9 pm on Wednesday, “Due to the expected high energy demand, the grid supply is tight.”
For those who have never lived in Southern California, 4-9 pm is the peak time. Many people go home from get off work or pick up their children from school. This is the time when air conditioning, electrical appliances, televisions, computers, and gaming systems have the highest usage rate. Some people even charge their electric cars after a long commute. The northern regions of the state usually don’t worry about air conditioning, but with this heat wave, their temperature will be higher than average; so if they have such a system, they will want to use it.
Power outages during that time were not good, so the unfortunate energy manager just asked us to lower it a bit?

During the Flex Alert, if health permits, consumers are required to lower their thermostat to 78 degrees or higher and take other voluntary measures, including avoiding the use of large appliances and unnecessary lights.
This is the time I usually cook dinner, and I believe other people are the same; especially caregivers and those taking care of family needs. Both microwave and range need to be used. 78 degrees? How many menopausal women are there in California? Just curious.

We have ended the summer informally and spent our last holiday weekend before November. It can be said that this is a week for people to “go ahead at full speed” again. Children wear masks to go to school, people resume their normal work schedules, and life should be able to enter a simple rhythm. The last thing any of us want to do is to consider whether power will continue to exist; especially because we have paid a high price for this energy, and received very little.
