Happy Friday! We are back to RI this weekend, and I am preparing to release my Newport Guide on Monday. I have shown it to some people and the feedback so far has been very good. I am talking about this with my friend Victoria (he is also my web designer). I have a lot of self-doubt about the guide, if it is what people want. When I do this, I put a lot of time, work, energy, and thought into something, and then just before I am ready to share with the world, I convince myself that it is not so good and no one cares. As Victoria said, “The girl who thinks that no one will show up at her party” syndrome. I couldn’t help laughing because she was right. I think I have been that girl all my life (so is she, that’s why she can contact).
I have been working hard to study this behavior pattern, but sometimes it slowly returns, especially before the important moment when I am ready to share something meaningful to me. In any case, I can write a longer paper on this, but I think my purpose of sharing is to say that if you have ever felt this way, then you are not alone. I can tell you that in my 36 years of life, people will come to parties, and if they don’t, that’s great because I can go to bed earlier.
