Review – Bluetooth earbuds have become a part of daily life for many of us. Listening to music, podcasts, audiobooks, movies, and videos without disturbing people around you, without cables at all, is a huge convenience. Many companies are manufacturing this type of earplugs, so it is difficult to stand out. SOUNDPEATS enters this category again with its Air3 true wireless Bluetooth headset.
What is it?

Design and features
The earplugs and shell of SOUNDPEATS Air3 are black. There is a short rod at the bottom of the earplugs, reminiscent of the original AirPods. In fact, at first glance, you can easily mistake them for a pair of black AirPods, which I think illustrates the SOUNDPEATS design. Also like AirPods, they are made of hard plastic, without a silicone tip, only a piece of plastic that enters the ear.

Air3 supports in-ear detection, if you remove the headset from your ear, you can pause what you are listening to. If you remove the earbuds during a call, this also allows you to automatically switch the audio back to the phone. Each earbud has dual microphones, and the CVC noise reduction call audio is very clear.
Installation and setup
To set up, first make sure that the charging case and earbuds are charged. When finished, open the case and press the button on the front of the case for three seconds to put the earbuds into pairing mode. Next, find SOUNDPEATS Air3 in the Bluetooth menu of your device and select it. Pairing takes only a few seconds. Once paired, they will become the default audio destination for your device, just like any other Bluetooth audio device.
No other settings are required. There is no need to install an app, cannot change the function of the button, no EQ settings or any other operations are required.

is using
It took me a while to figure out how these should fit my ears. I know the basic principles, such as the stems should be facing down, but I expect to have to push them further into my ears. I have never used Apple’s AirPods because I never like their wired EarPods; they just don’t fit my ears and don’t sound very good in my opinion. Since the design of Air3 is so similar, I am worried that I will not like them, but it turns out that I do.
Once I find that this kind of rest is in my ears, I don’t have to keep pushing them into the fit I am used to and I like the sound. Overall, the sound is fairly even, although I can use more bass in some of the music I listen to. Since they are located outside the ear canal, not inside like earphones, it is a bit difficult to generate the bass I want, but it doesn’t make the music feel thin, so I can easily enjoy my feelings. When I was listening to a podcast, the sound sounded a little deeper than when I was used to using other Bluetooth headsets, but not too much.
Because I am more accustomed to Samsung Galaxy Buds, which have silicone eartips and go deeper into the ear canal, I have been trying to push them further into my ears because they feel loose to me, and I want to make sure they don’t fall out. I must learn to stop doing this and believe that they will not fail. I did try to shake my head to see if I could drive them away, but they didn’t move. When I put them in my ears to eat, they moved a little, but they were not far enough away to not fall off.

In operation, they encountered the same problems as other Bluetooth earbuds, which do not have the same controls on each ear. I spent a lot of time listening to podcasts because one ear was tired of wearing earplugs, or changing earplugs all day when the battery started to get low. I prefer to use the same controls on each earbud so that I don’t have to remember what the various faucets do, or just deal with missing functions on one side and the other. This is just my preference and what I look for in a Bluetooth headset, but it may not even matter to many people.
In terms of control, SOUNDPEATS Air3 True Wireless Earbuds have a very small click area. The part of the earbud with the S mark is where you click to control the position of the earbud. It is much smaller than the click area I am used to on Galaxy Buds. I finally found the best area to dig, but it only took a while.
These easily become the lightest Bluetooth earbuds I have ever used. The charging case is very compact, and the small size of the earbuds also contributes to this.
An ingenious feature that I have never seen in other Bluetooth earbuds I have tried is the low-latency gaming mode. Triple-click the left earbud to enable this mode, which helps to keep the audio and video in sync. If you are a gamer, this may be a very welcome addition.

what do I like
- Compact size
- Overall sound quality
- USB-C charging
- Good battery life
What will i change
I would like to see some silicone earplugs to help them seal my ears and make them fit better. I would also like to see a longer USB-A to USB-C cable included in the package.
Final thoughts
In terms of price, SOUNDPEATS Air3 true wireless earplugs are an excellent set of true wireless earplugs. When you can easily pay two to three times the price for similar pairs that don’t have much better sound quality or features, these really start to look worth the money.
