Djokovic defeated Daniel Medvedev on Sunday to win the Paris Masters and allowed the 25-year-old Russian to follow in his footsteps and win the trophy.
“He is undoubtedly one of the best players in the world right now,” Djokovic added. “If he stays healthy, he will win more Grand Slams.
“If I coach him, I hardly have any work to do. He may be my biggest competitor at the moment. He is very close to becoming the number one in the world. He is a new generation leader and he has no weaknesses in the game.”
