American astronauts will land on the moon again as early as 2025 instead of 2024-more than 50 years later. The reason for the delay was the competition between Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos in the spaceship tender.
DNASA has postponed its planned return to the moon in 2024 by at least one year. “We assume that’Artemis 3’will be launched as early as 2025,” NASA Administrator Bill Nelson said on Tuesday. Artemis 3 is a spacecraft of SpaceX, a private space company owned by Tesla boss Elon Musk. The company is bidding for NASA and is being built by Amazon founders and Blue Origin Jeff Bezos Prevailed.

Blue Origin has filed a lawsuit for awarding a $2.9 billion lunar module contract to a competing company. A US federal judge dismissed the lawsuit last Thursday. Nelson said the lawsuit lost seven months.

As part of the Apollo program, the last time American astronauts landed on the moon was in 1972. The Artemis mission was named after the twin sisters of Apollo, the goddess of hunting and the moon in Greek mythology.
