Israel ambassador Tzipi Hotovely was outraged from the university debate London School of Economics and Political Science Students and activists waving the Palestinian flag.
The crowd tried to rush to the ambassador because she escaped her controversial debate about the future of the Middle East while holding flowers in the university.
A video from outside the London School of Economics and Political Science on Tuesday night showed that security guards tied Ms. Hotovely in a Jaguar provided by her embassy as the police tried to fend off groups that could be heard chanting “Aren’t you ashamed?”
According to Ynet, “We will not succumb to atrocities and violence,” Ms. Hotovely promised after the skirmish. “The State of Israel will send representatives to participate in each stage.”
The activists of the class war at the London School of Economics and Political Science posted an Instagram story before the debate, urging students to catch up.
It said: “Whoever smashes the ambassador’s window (Lincoln Stadium) will get a pint. Let’s fucking scare her.” 18.25 We are rushing in. Let us shake her up. Fuck the old bill. “
The ministers condemned the students’ behavior.
British Foreign Secretary Liz Truss wrote on Twitter: “We British believe in freedom of speech. Treatment of Israeli ambassadors @TzipiHotovely It was unacceptable to try to keep her silent last night. “
“This is deeply disturbing, and I am sorry Ambassador Hotovili,” Conservative MP Nadhim Zahawi tweeted.
Before the start of the event, the Palestinian community at the London School of Economics and Political Science stated that it was “angry” at the invitation to the event and the approval of the London School of Economics.
Hotovely has a close relationship with Benjamin Netanyahu and is a leader of the Likud group. He calls himself a “religious right”, opposes the two-state solution, supports mergers, and openly opposes reforms and conservative branches of Judaism.
Several senior members of the British Jewish community expressed dissatisfaction with her appointment as ambassador, including the Labour Party colleague Lord Beecham. He said: “The appointment of a far-right ambassador is typical of the current Israeli government, but it will not help to win. . Friends in the UK — or indeed any other reasonable country.”
In her first event as an ambassador to the Council of British Jewish Representatives, Hotovely described the disaster—the displacement and continued persecution of Palestinians—as an “Arab lie”.
The event at the London School of Economics and Political Science is part of a series of debates on the future of the Middle East. Husam Said Zomlot, head of the Palestinian delegation to the United Kingdom, will deliver a speech on Thursday, November 11.
An LSE spokesperson said: “On Tuesday, November 9, the LSESU Debating Society hosted the Israeli Ambassador to the United Kingdom on the LSE campus.
