The Philippine direct selling company Personal Collection Direct Selling, Inc. (PC), in cooperation with the Marine Conservation Organization of the Philippines (MCP), an ecological non-governmental organization, continues to carry out a campaign to clean up the country’s coastline and surrounding waters of trash and garbage, especially waste plastics. According to its declaration of “Green Life is a Good Life”, PC has hired its Siaton and Negros Oriental distributors on October 26, 2021 to strengthen MCP’s coastal cleanup work in the southwestern Visayas.
Philippine Marine Conservation Project Manager Soren Knudsen said: “We firmly believe that Personal Collection is one of the most loyal local companies advocating environmental responsibility. We, the Philippine Marine Conservation Organization, are honored to be one of the partner organizations and work hand in hand with PC to eliminate the country’s Plastic pollution.”
According to Willie “Jun” Evangelista, Jr., Chairman of the Board of Personal Collection Direct Selling, Inc., “As a pioneer in the use of biodegradable packaging, Personal Collection invites more local communities, environmental groups and organizations to join the #GreenLifeGreatLife campaign to create A healthier and greener Philippines.”
The Negros Oriental event is attended by PC dealers and office employees who clean up along the Albaga Beach in Siaton City. They worked with MCP and other volunteers to collect large amounts of plastic waste and other debris from the coast and nearby waters, and more cleanup activities are expected in the coming months. Given that our archipelago has more than 7,600 islands and nearly 36,300 kilometers of coastline, the Philippines is the third largest source of pollution in the world. If the danger of plastic pollution remains unabated, it will endanger one of the world’s most abundant marine resources.
I miss joining Coast cleanup!
