It took less than three seconds from the time the protesters on the street shot into the air. Kyle Rittenhouse On Thursday, an expert on the use of force testified for the defense in Rittenhouse’s murder trial, firing with his rifle.
As part of Rittenhouse’s lawyer’s efforts, John Black stated that at the age of 17, he had reason to worry about his own life. He shot and killed three men and killed two on a turbulent night. Self-defense behavior.Protests against racial injustice Kenosha last year.
The defense has recommended to the jury that the relevant time frame for determining whether Rittenhouse’s use of force is reasonable includes only a few minutes before and after the shooting.
As far as prosecutors are concerned, they emphasized a longer window, saying that a series of tragic incidents occurred within a few hours, beginning with Rittenhouse’s decision to use a rifle to participate in the turbulent protests.
Kyle Rittenhouse sobbed in the stands, claiming that he was “pushed to despair” by the first person he killed
The 18-year-old Rittenhouse was shot during the unrest that broke out in Kenosha in the summer of 2020 because a white Kenosha police officer injured Jacob Black, a black man. If found guilty, he may be sentenced to life imprisonment. Rittenhouse was white, and the person he shot was also white.
Rittenhouse took an AR-style semi-automatic weapon and a medical kit to Kenosha. The former police and young firefighting students said this was an effort to protect property after the mob set fire and ransacked the enterprise a few days ago.
The case left Americans with disagreements over whether Rittenhouse was opposed to lawless patriots or voluntary police officers.
On Wednesday, Rittenhouse spent most of the day in the stands, recounting what happened in those crazy minutes on August 25, 2020. At one point, he sobbed so badly that the judge adjourned the meeting.
“I did nothing wrong. I defended myself,” he said.

In the video and most of the statements confirmed by the prosecution’s own witnesses, Rittenhouse said that the first man pushed him to the corner and put his hand on the barrel of the rifle, the second man hit him with a skateboard, and the third A man uses a gun of his own.
His testimony was interrupted by angry exchanges. His lawyers demanded that the trial be unsuccessful, without a chance for a new trial, and accused the chief prosecutor of asking Rittenhouse about cross-border issues.
Although the judge was obviously angry with the prosecutor, he did not immediately rule on the request. On Thursday, he continued to advance the case and said that if the trial can end on Friday, it would be ideal.
Most of the testimony was focused on the fatal shooting of Joseph Rosenbaum, who was the first person to fall that night, because that triggered the bloodshed that followed .
Rittenhouse said Rosenbaum was carrying a chain earlier that night and threatened to kill him twice. He said Rosenbaum chased him, pushed him into the corner and put his hand on the rifle, when he shot.
“If I asked Mr. Rosenbaum to take my gun from me, he would use it to kill me,” he said, “and it might kill more people.”
During the cross-examination on Wednesday, prosecutor Thomas Binger tried to take home the state government’s view that Rittenhouse created a dangerous situation in the first place.
“You understand that when you point AR-15 at someone, it might make them think you are going to kill them, right?” Binger asked.
