Comic idol John Chris does not like to cancel culture, he puts money on his lips.
Or, actually, he was putting his legs there—and then walking.
Not in a stupid way.
According to reports deadline, The 82-year-old Monty Python alumni completed his planned 86 lectures at Cambridge University.
John’s reason: the agency’s “wake-up rule.”
British historian and broadcaster Andrew Graham-Dickson recently spoke at the Cambridge Trade Union Association.
In the speech, he jokingly impersonated Adolf Hitler.
Chosen from his ridicule, as Washington Examiner:
“This modern, terrible art promoted by the Jews… and modern art, it is cubist-inspired by black art. This tribal art, uh, how terrible is it? We must clear it from our Germany …We are pure Aryans. Our genes are pure, our hearts must be pure, and our tastes must be pure.”
The guest later clarified that he intended to “emphasize the absolutely evil nature of Hitler and his regime.”
But not everyone likes this attempt.
Afterwards, the chairman of the Cambridge Union, Keir Bradwell (Keir Bradwell) wrote to Facebook, Where he won’t even mention Andrew’s name:
“I would like to express my unreserved apology for the comments made by a speaker in our debate on Thursday night. Neither I nor society will condone the frivolous and grotesque language used by individuals… I oppose it with the impression of rudeness and deep numbness, that is, there is something like bad taste, so there must be something like taste. This is unforgivable, and I regret not intervening.…
“I firmly believe in the value of freedom of speech that we have been defending for 206 years. … But I know that in this case, I have struck the wrong balance between my role as member representative and speech promoter. …
“The speaker is a respected art critic, and there is no sign that he will make his remarks. I just hope that we can foresee his remarks and choose others.”
according to British Broadcasting Corporation, Kyle therefore assured members:
“We will create a blacklist of speakers who will never be invited back, and we will share it with other unions. Andrew will be on that list.”
Andrew Volley Attach his own statement:
“In my speech, I satirized [Hitler]In short, explain his rude and insensitive statements about art and race. … Mr. Bradwell put me on his list, implying that I am a racist and anti-Semitist, which was totally rejected, in the context, surprising. My speech was a strong attack on Hitler’s racism and anti-Semitism. “
Keir is not the only one who is unhappy. Count John Chris in this group.
But for John, the “weird” is Cambridge.
It turns out that the actor has an ironic past:
Obviously, he did the same thing on the giant python.
So in response to Cambridge canceling Andrew, John canceled them. Call it preemptive:
I am looking forward to talking to the Cambridge Union students this Friday, but I heard that someone there was blacklisted for doing something
Imitating HitlerI’m sorry I did the same thing on the Monty Python show, so I blacklisted myself before everyone else

“I apologize to all Cambridge University who wish to talk to me,” he wrote on Twitter, “but maybe some of you can find a place where the wake-up rule does not apply.”
I apologize to anyone at Cambridge University who wants to talk to me, but maybe some of you can find a place where the wake rule does not apply

This is not the talented comedian’s first position on the emotions of modern comedy.
Look: “John Cleese Burns of Monty Python The Simpsons’Apu’ actor Hank Azaria for his “apology”. “
Last July, the stupid master Point out The point of the joke is…this is a joke:
“All humor is critical. If you have someone who is very kind, smart, flexible and always behaves well, they are not funny. The funny thing is those who don’t…”
As I pointed out before, I don’t think we have any more jokes anymore.
There are too many things that need to be taken seriously.
In 2018, Shane Allen, head of BBC’s comedy department Be fired The Monty Python comedy troupe said that the day of the middle class “Oxford Cambridge whites” is over.
Whether he is wrong or not, he is right.
‘If you were to form a team now, it wouldn’t be six white men from Oxford and Cambridge. All kinds of people will reflect the modern world,” Shane said.
If it were in Cambridge, it would not be Andrew Graham-Dixon.
Subsequently, it was neither John Cleese.
Mr. Cleese believes that people should be able to accept jokes.
But one joke he couldn’t accept…was waking up.
humor It must be evolving.
In a short period of time, we have got rid of this…
