SecondSupporters of the President-elect of the United States stormed the Capitol Donald Trump Last January, his photos spread all over the world: a “shaman” from Arizona wearing a fur and horn headdress became one of the faces of the Washington Congress attack.

Ten months later, Jacob Chansley was sentenced to 41 months in prison in the US capital on Wednesday, as the broadcaster CNN and other US media reported unanimously. The Department of Justice demanded a 51-month prison sentence for Chanceley’s prominent role in the attack on the Capitol.

Chansley was arrested a few days after the dramatic incident on January 6. He has been detained ever since. After the attack, Chanceley boasted about this behavior. “In fact, a group of our traitors set up barricades in the office, put on gas masks and withdrew to the underground bunker. I think this is a victory,” he told NBC News at the time.

“Shaman” admits wrong

“What you did is terrible,” Judge Royce Lambeth said to the defendant on Wednesday. Chansley was very regretful. The 34-year-old said: “A man will honorably admit when he makes a mistake.” “It was a mistake to break into the Capitol. There is no excuse.”
