Roccat Torch USB microphone review rating
Generalize
Roccat Torch is a good microphone at a reasonable price. Its functional design allows easy control of the volume level during streaming, and its overall performance is comparable to other major brands in the same price range.
advantage
- feature design
- Cost-effective
shortcoming
- Bulky design
- The application is not very useful
With the growth of streaming and working from home, the demand for good quality microphones has surged in the past year.
In the past year, I have reviewed several good microphones, and the new Roccat Torch is the most affordable one.

set up
Roccat Torch has some unusual physical settings. There are three USB-C ports, one is connected to your computer, and then you use the second short cable to connect the base to the microphone.
This seems to be a strange design decision, it may be, but there is some logic here. The microphone itself is detachable, allowing you to mount it on the cantilever, but the base has all the controls for pickup mode, gain, and volume. If you mount the microphone on your arm, there is a third extra long USB-C cable in the package.
The microphone works perfectly without any additional software, but you can choose to install Roccat Neon to have some additional control over RGB, but this seems relatively meaningless.
is using

This is a condenser microphone with 3 independent pickup modes, one of which is Roccat’s proprietary Whisper. The other two are standard stereo and cardioid. Most people, like me, will stick to the heart-shaped pointing.
Whisper is designed to pick up your voice with volume and clarity, even if you are whispering. Stereotyped gamers who tend to play overnight may like this feature.
The LED will change according to the pickup pattern and will not be too bright or brilliant, but will appeal to anyone with an RGB housing/peripheral device.
The design decision gave some cumbersome settings, first with a wire connected to the base and then to the microphone, but compared to a microphone with all the controls on the device, it provides better features. However, I also want silence on the base, but this is hands-free, so you don’t have to touch the microphone directly.
The sound quality is good, which is the most important thing a microphone needs. My voice is very clear, without a microphone picking up too much ambient noise. It really doesn’t have the smooth warmth I get from more expensive ones 512 audio XLR microphoneAnd I would not say it and EPOS B20, Which will cost more. However, I want to say that it provides comparable performance to my old Blue Yeti Nano, and it has been serving me for the past few years.
One missing feature is the ability to monitor your own voice, but this is not a big problem at this price point.
Prices and alternatives
The retail price of Roccat Torch is £89.99, and recently it was as low as £83. I expect it to be similar to the price of Black Friday/Christmas, if not lower.
The suggested retail price of Blue Yeti Nano is £99.99, but the price is £79.99
The Razer Seiren Emote has a suggested retail price of 169.99 pounds, but it is currently priced at 79.99 pounds, or Elite is priced at 89.99 pounds
overall
Roccat Torch is a good microphone at a reasonable price. Although I am sure it is designed specifically for gamers, in recent events in the past year, microphones like this quickly gained mainstream appeal. This is very effective for streaming and zooming calls, and compared to the cheap microphones on most webcams or headsets, this is a major upgrade.
It is not as attractive as the competing options, and there is no useful supporting software, but its design can be said to be more practical than most other products, and I have never felt that I need any software to make the most of this microphone.
