Google SearchLiaison announced via Twitter on Monday, November 29, 2021 that Google News has encountered an error that will not be resolved until Tuesday or sometime after December 1.
The problem Google discovered allowed non-news content to infiltrate Google News search results.

The tweet stated that users must go through a series of somewhat complicated steps to generate penetration of non-news search results.
People have to search in the Google News search tab and use quotation marks to sort the search results by date. This is two more steps than simply searching for news.

Searching by date actually requires two additional steps, namely, clicking the “Tools” button and then clicking the “Sort by Date” link. This is something that ordinary search users may not know what to do.

To test it, I searched for “wordpress vulnerability“(With quotation marks), and then sort the search results by date.
It worked, and Google failed to produce specialized news results.
